Brabazon is looking for a full-time Service Writer at our St. Paul, MN branch.
The Service Writer position supports multiple branches in the research, pricing, and preparation of service repair/maintenance quotes.
Primary job duties:
- Write service repair quotes for various branches & provide follow-up support to sales and service.
- Ensure quoted pricing is meeting margin expectations.
- Follows company procedures to determine correct vendor to source parts. Verifies parts identified meet repair, lead time and pricing requirements.
- Works with purchasing department for part setup and/or pricing & vendor updates.
- Updates/verifies customer unit records in business system.
- Supports branches with the entry of service repair orders.
- Serves as a back up to Customer Service in handling customer’s warranties.
- Provides inside support for the service team at the local branch.
Secondary job duties:
- Backup role in answering incoming branch inquiries.
- Open work orders for service center jobs, prepares a service order with required paperwork and is responsible for ensuring required parts are available for technician.
- Service ticket processing:
a. Ensure Technicians hand in service tickets daily.
b. Review Tickets for quote requests & advise when ticket requests a repair quote.
c. Ensure all parts listed as return are on the return shelf.
d. Pass tickets to Service Coordinator for billing - Maintains the service schedule for the service center following company schedule procedures when necessary. Contacts customers in a timely manner to schedule their preventative maintenance and keeps customers apprised of the status for repairs.
- File Service tickets, packing lists, etc.
- Serves as a back up to Service Coordinator in acquisition RMA’s from vendor and ensures items get back to vendor.
- Provide guidance to PM Parts Department for contract parts.
- Enter, track, & process installation department SRO’s.
- Write quotes for compressed air equipment & piping Installations.
Qualification Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED equivalent is required; however, a 2 year degree or higher is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of technical customer service experience is preferred
- Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and CRM.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of customer service.
- Ability to work as a team with internal and external staff members.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with people of various educational and technical backgrounds, both inside and outside the company.
- Previous experience with pumps, compressors, and vacuum equipment is an asset, but not required.
