ComEd's Industrial Systems Fix It Now program, part of ComEd's energy efficiency program for business, pays to find your compressed air leaks, pays again for every one repaired, and pays a third time if you bring the discharge pressure down. Northern Illinois plants on ComEd delivery with 25 hp or more of compressors qualify.

These are planning estimates at 0.18 kW per CFM, $0.12 per kWh and a typical leak population of roughly one leak per four horsepower. Leak counts vary a great deal between a well-kept plant and a neglected one. The survey produces the real number, and ComEd pays on the real number, not on this estimate.

What is the ComEd Fix It Now program?
Fix It Now is ComEd's Industrial Systems incentive for business customers. For compressed air it pays $8 per horsepower for a leak survey, $20 for every leak identified and $115 for every leak repaired, plus rebates for lowering discharge pressure, VSD compressors, no-loss drains, air nozzles, filters, storage and dryers. Do I qualify if I buy power from a retail supplier?
Yes. Eligibility follows delivery, not supply. As long as ComEd delivers your power over their wires and you pay the Rider EDA charge on your bill, you qualify. This one misunderstanding keeps more Illinois plants out of the program than any other.
What is the minimum compressor size for ComEd incentives?
Compressed air measures start at 25 horsepower of non-backup compressors. Below that the program does not apply, though the leaks still cost you the same money.
How do I apply for the ComEd compressed air rebate?
You sign one form. We do the ultrasonic survey, tag and log every leak, make the repairs, and prepare and submit every page ComEd asks for.
Do I have to buy equipment from you?
No. We service every make, not only the lines we sell. The leak and pressure measures involve no equipment purchase at all.
What if we already had a compressed air audit?
The audit is not the incentive. ComEd pays per leak repaired, and most audits produce a tag list that never gets worked. If yours is more than eighteen months old, the leak population has come back anyway.
Does ComEd offer a rebate on a new VSD air compressor?
Yes. For the 2026 program year ComEd pays $220 per hp for an air compressor with an integrated variable speed drive, 200 hp or under, and $150 per hp to retrofit a VSD onto an existing compressor. A new 100 hp VSD machine earns $22,000. Book by early October so it lands inside the program year. Our VSD savings estimator shows what the drive saves on energy.
When is the deadline for 2026 ComEd compressed air rebates?
Incentives run until approved funds are exhausted or December 31, 2026, whichever comes first. Work has to be completed and documented inside the program year, so book a new VSD compressor by early October, a VSD retrofit by mid October, drains, nozzles and filters by November 10, a leak survey by the week of December 1 and a pressure reduction by December 8.
