An older compressor required an air end repair, creating an opportunity to evaluate broader system performance. Pressure fluctuations across the plant affected efficiency and risked unplanned downtime. Plant leadership needed a path forward, balancing immediate repair needs with long-term operational improvement.

Brabazon recommended a comprehensive air audit to identify opportunities to reduce operating costs. Our audit revealed multiple strategies to reduce energy consumption while stabilizing plant air pressure. Findings showed strong potential for improved production consistency and reduced downtime through upgraded compressor technology and system optimization.
The Result Verified Savings Surpass Projections
Brabazon delivered two new 150HP variable speed drive compressors with a complete turnkey installation. The upgraded system reduced plant operating pressure by 10 psig, producing 34,239 kWh in energy savings from pressure reduction alone. Total verified savings reached 719,021 kWh annually, equal to $49,000 in energy cost reduction. Through the Ameren Missouri Program, the customer also received a $99,224.90 rebate. The energy savings matched enough electricity to power 66 homes for one year.
